Has the idea that you can hold two ideas at once to consider before adopting one no longer exisit?

Or is it now more important to be a drone and adapt quickly to what your political affiliation, spiritual group, educational leaders, or friends tell you?
It seems we raised a generation of nonthinkers.
A meme becomes the religious text, a political leader a god; we are brainwahed instead of educated, and corrupt spritual leaders use religion as bullet points instead of being spirtual shepherds and guides and we call it good without considering what is beign said- it is enough that our paticular affliation has put out the idea.
Complying without reflection is lazy at best and dangerous at worst.

As someone who grew up in the 90's I recall distisnctly the notion that you needed to be very skeptical of things told to you by power.

Trust no one.

Gen X looked at things skeptically and with great suspicion as we ALL grew up noticing the difference between what we were told and what we actually saw.

The current generation believes social media is reality. They can watch a 10 second clip, from one perspective, and as long as it conforms to their narrative, will believe it without hesitation and angrily defend it and demand the rest of us pay feality to it.

It's both shocking and a little sad. I'm glad I am the age I am, and grew up in the time period I did.

@SumKindaMunster it's up to our educators to change this ,but it doesn't seem like that will happen.
When I was in school we were encouraged to disagree as long as it was respectfully done.
We had to have a coherent argument,of course.

Unfortunately, when people hate they’re looking for the political ideology and the religious doctrine that comes closest to supporting and justifying that hatred.

They are not interested in understanding both sides.
From their perspective, there is no other side.
