anyone of average intellect and sound body & mind
Literally no. I think I am someone of average intellect (or higher) and sound body and mind, I know that what I do is supposed to be much harder than retail and yet retail is something I know I couldn't do. It's nearly impossible for someone with an anxiety disorder

@Eternity what I'm trying to say is that many of the people who work retail suffer from one. In fact, working retail is one of the factors that can affect the development of one. So, no. If a job can lead to anxiety, it is definitely not an easy one

@SW-User what job couldn't possibly lead to an anxiety disorder?

@Eternity a job where you wouldn't have to deal with as many people as you do when you work retail, for example

Eh retail management is a bit more complex. It is managing a business even if it’s a small one. There are sales goals to meet, employees to retain, and all of the laws and regulations that apply to any other sort of business.

Managment is a lot more difficult than many who have never done it realize
Also the same can easily be said for manyvof the trade. By and large many in trades just know how to piece together the "legos" with little understanding of the technical or theory aspects of how the shit they pieve together actually works or why.

@MethDozer "fitting the legos together" takes time too dude. Our legos are pretty complex. And honestly those people fill a vital role; not everyone is PLC material. Not everyone needs to be doing stress cones and high voltage splices. We need our lego men too. No shame in it.
And yeah residential is easy but you still aren't going to be doing it right in 4 weeks or less. No way...not unless you have a very lax inspector who isnt double checking anything as far as code.
In 4 weeks you will have mastered roughing the wire in, landing the home runs, and wiring receptacle and lights and whatnot. Services though? Transfer switches? Lightning protection? No.
Maybe in 4 more weeks.

@MethDozer i haven't set out to shame them, there is no shame in honest work, but some jobs are easier/less complex than others.
A big problem in retail is dickish management and, universally, the excuse for being such dicks seems to be their delusion that they are 'highly skilled' compared to their subordinates.
I work in a field where it is possible to be so highly/nichely skilled that people have to tolerate you no matter how much of a cock you are.
Retail is simply not such a field.
