Today I had an interview

I was applying for the position of Executive Secretary but the question they were asking me was out of topic. They were asking me "What is the reason behind inflation", What is mean by data mining, What is mean by share market and cash market", What is mean by mutual fund". Are these question are even relevant to ask for the admin position. I am sad aswell mad.

I guess they are trying to see if you are the sort of person that absorbs information about the world around them. If the position was with a financial services company then I would expect their staff to have rudimentary knowledge about what the company does. If the position is with (say) a travel agent then not really relevant at all!
