This sort of defeatist attitude, that always result in low turnout (read: extremists vote en masse while the majority sits out because "both sides bad!!" and let them have their way) is what destroys the country.
"Both sides bad" is the message that the wealthy minority pushes to take ownership of the entire political system. Successfully. The end game is what you see in Russia: people who brainlessly let autocrats take over for the last 30 years now fighting one another for the last pack of sugar on the shelf, while the .0001% are competing with one another at who owns the most expensive villa+yatch combo in Europe.
