There are certain starts that burn so slowly, astronomers believe that they are nearly as old as the known universe, nearly 14 billion years old, three times older than our own system. And it is also believed that despite their age, they will probably be some of the last stars burning close to when the supply of hydrogen in the universe finally runs out.
