You’re not too much, okay? ❤ You don’t have to apologize for feeling deeply or caring so much. I can understand You, not because I’m a mental health expert, but because I’m in the same boat as You. I know how deeply it hurts when Your care is mistaken for control, when all You ever wanted was to help, protect, or make things a little easier for someone.

But, dear friend, maybe we can’t always change how others perceive our intentions. What we can change, gently and patiently, is how we respond to it. We need to learn to be a little more forgiving of ourselves first, and then of others.

One small adjustment I’m trying to make is to keep being the caring person I am without letting it hurt me so much when others feel overwhelmed by my care. Honestly, I don’t know how to care less, even when I try. My mind automatically starts anticipating what others might need or how I could help them, even when they haven’t asked.

One thing I’m learning, though, is to give people space and not let my care unintentionally intrude on theirs.

Yeah, my mind messes with me too and it doesn’t feel healthy but those aren’t terrible traits

I completely get this… as I’ve been there…
Aside from overthinking and caring deeply, I’m sure you’re none of those other things..

Rediscover yourself… all that makes you, you.. accept and embrace all your strengths..
overthinkers and deeply caring and loving people; the strengths are almost unlimited..

I came across 5 statements that I recite every morning after just waking up
-today I’ll meet resistance and that’s okay
-I’m grateful for everything I have
-I’m not my thoughts; it’s only my mind that’s the thinker of them
-I can’t control everything but I can control how I show up
-I’m not inferior nor superior to anyone

You sound like you're simply in your mid-20s, taking stock, and trying to figure it all out. Been there!

maybe you are just too self conscious in a negative way that isn't accurate? insecure? overthinking anxious?
Doing what you describe is like praying for something you don’t want
