I have one of those "negative validation" ownership groups. The fact that they don't have any reason to be "disappointed" or need to "discuss" things with me is supposed to be my validation.

Quite honestly, I don't worry. The customers and my department's staff are my validation. The corporation's HQ knows me well. They validate me to my owners.

Also, when you're in charge of someone's company, all the owners have to do is look on Google or Yelp to get a big picture view of their customers' perceptions. Ultimately, that's who we're all responsible to in order to truly be deemed successful.

Earn the #1 rating in customer satisfaction in your market and the money will flow. It's always the best short term and long term play. It's a mission statement and marketing plan all wrapped into one neat little package.

This is a very logical approach.
