The sweet Abyss

The person you were, the person your trying to be and the person you are
It can be so damn hard to choose when all you have is your scars and screams
Haunting you while awake and the fear of different realities torture you in your dreams

Waking up the next day, staying up all night so desperate not to sleep
Always trying to break free
From the chains and past that shackles you
Tears, cried and a glimmer of happiness is what gets you through
The Abyss

For me the Abyss is the thing I miss the most
The darkness and the demon that decided to hold me close...
How could I betray such a love?
How could a human ever be enough?
For a being like me?
Now do you see
It wasn't your love but the Abyss that has set me free
