As I see it, whenever a dominant group wants to initiate a policy of discrimination and eventual elimination of a disadvantaged and relatively powerless group within society they don't happen to like, they'll always begin by making the excuse that "those people" aren't really fully human after all anyway.
I see this argument a lot among the pro-abortion crowd. They like to say that the child in question is "just a foetus", or "not human yet", or "just a clump of cells". Some of them have even seriously compared an unborn child to a parasite, which just goes to show how woefully inadequate their understanding of even basic primary school biology is.
