how should you react to people who are standoffish and ' to the point' when you're just trying to be friendly
for example, my local computer repair shop, i've been taking my computer to them for well over a decade, they're very good and reputable & efficient at what they do, they always fix my computer no problem, and at fair prices, also bought a lot of computer accessories from them in times gone by.
the only thing is, it's a man and a women who run the shop, they're a couple, they're past middle age...and they're both ' standoffish' and ' to the point' when you're trying to talk to them, describe a problem to them, ask them questions and just trying to have a friendly conversation or just ' be friendly'.
and it often makes me feel disappointed, it throws me and makes me wish they would be different or return my friendly efforts.
i was talking to some loved ones and my elderly mother about it and they all said; they are just being business like, it's nothing personal, that's how a lot of business people are, they are not my friends as such.
so, from that, it helped me to just accept that's how they are, and not to expect too much in the way of friendly- forthcoming dialogue. any thoughts?
