Still thinking about it
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@val70 Fair enough.

I will start by saying I have told my kids to stuff my body in a wheelie bin when I go and save the cost of a funeral. I dont need a grave,an urn or a headstone to be remembered. But if it has to be words, all I want is.. "I made a difference" I figure I did that where it mattered to me..😷
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@whowasthatmaskedman And that's all that matters, you made the difference you wanted to. Bravo.

@whowasthatmaskedman you made a difference… in what?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Ferise1 I opened up their options and allowed them to choose from a wider menu in their own lives, by educating them well and arming them with the skills to go further. And they have..😷

Hopefully I’m remembered as strong, considerate, helpful and kind. I make particular effort to show that I care, so hopefully it makes those close feel tangibly better about themselves.
I’m with my Savior… where will you spend eternity?
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@LadyGrace Many believe in Christ. Sadly the Bible says many will be surprised on the day of judgement. All we can do is our imperfect best.

Matthew 7:22-23 (NLT): "On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws’".
@LadyBronte I'm just saying that's what I would put on my tombstone. If people prepare for heaven, they won't have to be surprised. That's the whole purpose of being here on this earth. It gives us a chance to prepare for eternity.

And you're right. Thank you for highlighting Matthew 7:22–23, as it reminds us that just calling one's self a Christian or doing religious things, isn’t enough. Many people might think they’re following Christ because they go to church, pray, or do “good works,” but Jesus makes it clear that what matters is truly knowing Him and following Him from the heart. It’s not about appearances, tradition, or trying to be good—it’s about a committed relationship with Him and letting Him guide our lives. That’s what this passage has taught me, and I’m learning to follow Him more faithfully every day.

Wife. Mother. Daughter.
My remains will be donated to a forensic anthropology research facility (body farm).

So, no tombstone. No urn. Not even a notice on the net or in a newspaper.
