what does it mean when you only want to interact with people from the same background as you

for eg, i'm 48 now, white british, born in chester, grew up in manchester, but a lot of my family are native Londoners who now live in kent and i really i only want to associate or interact with people who are the same as me, from the same or similar background and exclude, ignore or avoid everyone else?? i think i'm very insular really....but i always have been like that.

but what does that mean about me and do you understand or think it's wrong??

I don't think wrong or right factors into it. But it can lead to living in an echo chamber and fostering only the views held by the group of people you intact with.

I know you're not in the US, but I believe that many of the people that vote for trump probably restrict who they interact with. At least that's one of the more common things that I've observed about them.
