It depends. You can have a love for fried chicken in common, but they might be racist white people and you might be black.

You might not share the love of fried chicken, but both of you might share religious beliefs.

I don't know..I'm not sure if racism trumps fried chicken.

What about racist black people when you're white?
ohplease · 46-50, F
@Sonnet: but how do they feel about chicken?
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Sonnet: same stuff, sugar.
Sonnet · 41-45, F
@MartinTheFirst: then why make the distinction?
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Sonnet: Because it could be one racist white person and one non-racist white person, then they could still get along, in some cases.
Sonnet · 41-45, F
@MartinTheFirst: True. But then you leave their colour out of it altogether & just talk about racist & nonracist.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Sonnet: Nope, because a non-racist white man and a racist white man could get along together... You're making this into a thing, it never was a thing :P
Sonnet · 41-45, F
@MartinTheFirst: I understand why you think it's a non-thing. Because we're from predominantly white countries. I never cared & i'm sure you didn't either. But you don't want to fall into the super double American trap.

People can be racist no matter what colour they are. This is a fact. Avoid pointing out race because it means nothing.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Sonnet: sigh... pointing out race in this case was necessary and i will do it if I feel like it... I won't let other peoples assumptions dictate my words.
Sonnet · 41-45, F
@MartinTheFirst: it wasn't necessary though. You disappoint me, that sucks. Turns out that you're a lefty. C'est la vie I suppose.
