"Cats got your tongue" 1 I can't imagine any situation where someone stays quiet if a cat grabbed a tongue. 2 how big is your mouth?

That phrase has roots back to the 1700's. The "CAT OF 9 TAILS"....a whip that cut thru clothes and flesh was used if troops spoke in ranks....refused orders....or screwed up. If you used your "tongue" to speak out of turn...........you got whipped,
