What keeps us away from peace? Stepping outside of God's will means stepping out of His peace. When we follow the Lord's perfect wisdom, everything goes best. Fighting battles God never intended robs us of time and energy for the tough times.
In Ephesians 6:16, we're instructed to take up the shield of faith, trusting in God's power and promises. God is our refuge (Psalm 46:1) and impenetrable tower (Proverbs 18:10), providing perfect wisdom and supernatural strength.
The more we reflect on what belongs to us in Christ, the less we'll cower in fear. Christ defeated evil, death, and sin through crucifixion, showing us that true strength comes from following God and His Word. (Philippians 2:8). We triumph when we live according to God's will, as recorded in Scripture.
Remaining in Step with God
We're not inching toward victory; we're empowered for overwhelming victory in Christ. It's essential to remain in step with Him, taking on what He assigns. When overwhelmed or opposed, place your hope in the Son of God.
The Center of Scripture
Jesus Christ is the center of the Bible, and the Psalms. He embodies God's character, delivering us from darkness and death. With faith grounded in Christ's work, we can trust God in any circumstance.
Psalm 27:1: "The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"
Fixing Our Gaze on Christ
Christ, the Word of God made flesh, is the light of life. Fix your eyes, mind, and heart on Him, and you'll move from fear to faith, saying, "In God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mere humans do to me?" (Psalm 56:11).
