Just one more thing about Reformed Theology
My approach would be frowned upon by those who are fully in this rich tradition. I want to make that clear so I don't sully their reputation. There's a way of speaking that comes from a renewed way of seeing things that comes with a kind of language I wouldn't feel comfortable using, unless it was real for me.
I treat these theologians of sound doctrine in the manner of a fan, and they are for me distinguished from other sorts of teachers, those who may or may not be in a position of authority over others. I therefore see the solid Reformed fellas as safe guides to all things Bible.
I do use the Bible, but I prefer not using the Bible alone, for I know how it can be used for different means, and not only the Prosperity and Charismatic sorts.
I do have opinions about certain doctrines, which find superb expression in the Reformed tradition. The Westminster Confession and Shorter and Larger Catechisms they did and The Heidelberg, Belgic and Synod of Dort are the basic confessional standards, some others apply too in significant ways like the 2nd Helvetic and the London Baptist one of 16 something or other.
I like how RC Sproul addressed differences between Reformed and other denominations, that there is agreement with the fundamentals but the Reformed have a few more distinguishing facets that aren't supposed to be seen as fundamental, like for example the Resurrection is a non-debateable if one is to be still seen as Christian, but one may still be one if there's differing views on church government, let's say.
I'm no expert though, but I sit at the feet so to speak of experts, experts are defined by their humility, the greater a theologian is, the less likely you're going to hear about it from him or her.
After my last post I read a chapter of Beeke & Smalley, and these are goodies to keep in mind.
If I'm to get the most out of this material it has to be taken seriously, and a fanboy of this or that eminent theologian is kids stuff, I like it though, and if it never goes past that, i'm no theologian, and if it all is true i'm storing up wrath upon my godless head. It's a vacuous manner of going about it also, when you read the greats, you'd have to not have a spiritual pulse if your regard for the source material from which it all comes from doesn't increase.
What this means for me on a personal level is all I can handle at the moment, and being some sort of source of comfort for my dad. If I progress well, I may be able to discuss these matters on SW in depth, and I shall be prepared not to be thought well of, for that comes with the package of doing these sorts of things.
I'm home alone btw this morning, dad's taking a taxi to do some stuff, poor guy had to receive my help to locate his phone again, he's ALWAYS losing things, and I must be there giving a no condemnation vibe towards him, It pains me that he's going through such a rough time with small matters, that make him feel like crumbling. It's in a way like seeing some disease take hold of him. My theological zeal is hence for 2 people primarily, me and him, and a way to honor my mom's memory. Honor thy father and mother, a basic thing I wasn't always very good at :(
I have to try to not say anything here anymore for a time times and a half at least. Storing up more goodies to weave into my own verbalizing of all of this. t/c folks, ty for putting up with such a buffoon!!

"A theologian has entered into an exceedingly dangerous place when he delights in reading the words of mere men, but has little interest in meditating on the Bible."
"To paraphrase Kelly Kapic, theology must be God-centered and yet man-sensitive, for the divine revelations of the Bible are “always interwoven” with concerns for human responses."
