Some people are genuinely clueless. They seek nothing deeper than a 'whiff' of emotion, and they never really "see" the person they are with. They don't care to. Perhaps it's too much effort for them, or maybe it's that their emotional intelligence is nonexistent. I don't know.

Oh, of course some will 'talk a good talk'. They figure out what makes you tick, what speaks to your heart, then use it to get what they want. Until they grow bored of the charade and move on.

The genuine connection you're talking about is difficult to find. I don't even know if it actually exists.

Unfortunately, from what I've seen, there is typically one heart in a relationship that sees, feels, understands, works hard to make someone feel loved, and strives keeps the relationship going, while the other heart is like a child v who hangs out in the passenger seat and just 'goes along for the ride', taking all the good stuff that comes with it.
