Is anyone really happy with the shade of their skin colour?
The darker people want to use Fair and Lovely in the hope of lightening their skin and the fairer people want to sleep in the sun or even use fake tans to darken theirs.

What is right for someone isn't for others, and what people are happy with is their own preference. If they prefer to add more milk or brew for longer as long as they are doing it for themselves then it's all good.
