Truly important books are those you live with

At first they may astound and sparkle and you just can't help shouting from the rooftops their qualities.

But then you have a morning after period, where you've perhaps been exposed to criticisms of that once so gloriously embraced source.

A crisis of faith in your impulsive embracing of it.

The truly important books, that are important for you, are impervious to criticisms of others, and indeed my listeners and readers here, what speaks to you, is because you are you, there is nothing so very important to an individual that they can rightfully become laws and stuff for the masses, a unique person's particular tastes are addressed only to the few, and that is what makes them so precious.

My interests are precious to me, as they stick with me, rarely do i change my mind about them, i share about them because i can't be phased by different takes on them, i know they aren't for everybody.
