For a dull life, this was an experience

First time going to the hopsital for myself, for a tooth infection. The ambulance ride was pleasant, a guy and a lady, got my temperature taken with a roller thing they rolled on my face. Blood pressure taken numerous times there and inside. I see cops and dashing fellas and ladies in uniform about, a bracelet is put on my wrist, then i wait not too long before going into Emergency, a room with 6 stalls with curtains dividing them, lots of waiting throughout with blood being taken, and then my very first CT Scan, they put a dye in me so i got to drink lots of water for the next 2 days, then back in emerg where eventually the IV started. It was busy there, and the Ortho Tech Nurse was juggling me with a few other patients, and a new Penicillin medication to take for the next 10 days.

8 hours i was there, and when i got home i just had to lie down and got some sleep without my last sleeping pill, hopefully my regular meds can be gotten today.

I still can't open my mouth that much meaning i can't chew stuff, nurse said i should see dentist soon, i could get the extraction there, dentist said they could but pensively, i wonder if that means they have no novocaine or anything like that there, iow's pain central for the operation.

I would very much like not to have to go back to the hospital, but my time there was ...... ok .... i had my kindle and kobo with me, and it was kinda awesome seeing the staff work their butts off for a living.

If and when i can chew food again, i'll surely post about that and that will be wonderful, i miss eating 😭

It sounds like that WAS quite the experience. I'm confused about what you had done in the hospital, but if that is too personal to ask about, please feel free to tell me so. 🙂

I hope you can see a dentist soon, but I would most certainly hope they have novocaine! 😱

I hope you don't have to go back to the hospital too, but it sounds like if you did have to, you would handle it very well.🙂

I will be joining you tomorrow in the not being able to chew department. I am getting somewhat apprehensive about the surgery, but by 5pm tomorrow, it will all be over one way or another. I keep thinking about the dental assistant who had me sign so many papers the last time I was there. She told me I heard the surgeon go over this and that with you, so sign these papers, but the surgeon didn't go over anything with me. I just signed the papers. I guess he was supposed to have told me all that could go wrong, but all he told me was that he could have all 6 teeth out in 30 minutes. It would be a piece of cake. For a moment, I felt better because he was confident, but the closer it gets to the day, the more anxiety I have. They asked me if I wanted to be put under for this, and I told them no. I am afraid I wouldn't wake back up. I'm not sure what I am afraid of. I mean, I didn't think I had ever had a wisdom tooth removed, but the X-ray showed that the upper left wisdom tooth was gone.🤔 I guess I must have had it removed and forgot about it, so it must not have been a terrible experience. The X-ray also showed my lower jaw had been broken, and when the surgeon asked me when that happened, I told him I didn't know. It happened when I was 6 and I told my great-grandmother I was gonna be just like my mom. I had spent a month with my mom, and I was defensive of the way my great-grandmother was cutting her down. I was the one and only child my great-grandmother ever smacked. She slapped me so hard I fell off the stool I was sitting on. That is when my jaw got broken, but she knocked some sense into me, which I am still grateful for to this day. Well, I have rambled on way too much. I guess I am just really nervous. I do hope things go well for you today. Thank you for posting about your experience and for letting me know you were home. I worried about you yesterday. :-)

@TheYawnArchive You are very good at describing things. I can always see pictures in my mind of what you write about, because you are so good at describing things. 🙂 Please don't worry about me. I will be ok, and I will let you know I am ok when I get home tomorrow, if you want me to.🤗
