Have you ever been ghosted or have you ever ghosted someone? What were the circumstances?

This is a sad topic. A few years ago I reconnected with a female friend I had been out of touch with -- someone I was friends with from our high school days and connected with off and on over the years, but had lost touch with for a while. We began corresponding again by email, irregularly but often enough to make me happy about this renewed friendship. Then she stopped responding and it has now been a couple of years without a word from her.
Given our history, of course it is possible that she will turn up in my life again. I hope so. But for now I do feel ghosted. 🥺
