If your age bracket is correct, @swirlie, I've known of it since before you were born, at an age younger than you now are. I wouldn't use it if I did not know, let alone chastise you.

Nor would I be so indirect and obtuse in attempting to discover whether or not someone understood something.

Yes, my age bracket is correct and I respect that you are much older than I am, which doesn't necessarily mean that you know more than I do!

What I would have done if I were you and not me, if I were as old as you and certainly much older than me, would be to simply translate what it means to the very first person who ever came along to respond to your post, just in case nobody else ever showed up after that one person left here, never to return.

Had you responded with a serious response, or asked, I'd have offered a translation.

You responded with the other half of your mercurial temperament. It was a fail, and sticking with it just made it look more pathetic.
