Feeling sapped of strength and overwhelmed from the storms of life?

I feel that way at times, as well. I'd be lying if I said I didn't, and there's nothing wrong with that... for any of us to feel that way. Just the other day, I said the following prayer and I pray this for you as well, for those who are weary of life and this world. If you're just so emotionally drained and overwhelmed right now, and you don't know what to say or cannot pray, perhaps my prayer might serve as an example for how to express your heart. God knows your heart, regardless of whether you can pray or not, or know what to say, and he knows every tear you have cried, and has them counted. I just want you to know that. He cares for you in ways that cannot be spoken and he definitely hears your prayers and wants to help. When our hearts and lives are so tangled and confused, we can always talk to Jesus. He welcomes you and loves when you talk to him.

A Prayer for Strength When Weary and Hurting

Lord, I’m weary. My energy is sagging, and my motivation is lagging. And I am so in need of you. I need your strength and your fresh touch to get back on track again. Your Word says the joy of the Lord is my strength. I know that's true and I know how you have helped me in the past, so I need your joy to replace all the bone-tired parts of my mind, body, and soul.

The pressures of life sometimes push me into a corner, rendering me helpless to move forward. There are hundreds of pressures in this life, and I feel paralyzed at times under the load, yet love every second of loving and helping others. Most of all, loving and serving you. Lord, help me not to quit, to keep running the race faithfully, and to find strength in that safe, secret place of yours, under your blessed wings of love and guidance.

I need your strength and am grateful for it and all your help, second by second, hour to hour, every single day. When don't I need your strength, God? You have never failed me nor forsaken me in the 52 yrs. since I committed my life to you. I'm eternally grateful to you for that and I'll never forget it. Sometimes I think to myself, just as the Bible mentions... 'who in the world am I, that You should take notice of me?' But you do and always have, and will, for any in this world who might turn to you. Thank you so much for that.

You are my Rock and Salvation, and I run to you today, believing that you will lift up my heavy heart, that you will fuel me for the tasks you've given me, and that your joy will completely consume any weaknesses in my life and continue to make me strong. In You, I am on solid ground, not crippled by limitations or failed attempts. Lord, I want to mount up with wings like an eagle and not just fly. I want to soar. I know you have made that possible, once again. You never fail to do so. For me to live in You, is pure joy and victory. I pray, create in me a clean heart and cleanse me of all unrighteousness. Renew my spirit and I shall give you all the praise.

Renew my strength, Lord. Fill me with the supernatural power of your Holy Spirit, to overcome each obstacle in my path. With my eyes on you, Lord, with you walking beside me and working through me, I can make it. I can do anything through you. You have proved to me that nothing is impossible with you as my Guide, Helper, and constant Companion and therefore, I can do, and HAVE done... that which seemed impossible. Thank you, Lord! I wouldn't trade you for anything or anyone in this world. There IS no substitute for you.

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen

According to 2 Chronicles 16:9, “The eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.” Could our weakness be connected with a poor connection with Christ?

God’s Strength is Joyful Strength

One of my favorite Bible verses, Nehemiah 8:10, says, “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” Joy and strength go together like flame and heat. When we’re joyful, we’re strong, but when we lose our joy, we lose strength. I try to keep an enthusiastic, positive spirit, and I'm able to do that, when I keep my focus on Jesus and not the trials and turmoil of this world. Yes, we can and must, stay informed about what's going on in this world, yet we do not have to be a part of the confusion and evil deeds that some do. Joy and strength comes from knowing and living for Jesus. Believers don't do that because they have to. They do it because they want to, out of their great love for what Jesus did for them on the cross, making salvation possible for eternal life in heaven, and I praise God for that.
