What phrase do you wish people would stop using?

That you "will find someone better, someone that deserves you" . Because those are hopes that aren't realistic. Some people never do . If they do good for them, but assuring that they will doesn't serve any purpose.

@Lovebird I am not entirely sure what you mean by that - the break-up may well be because the relationship it was not right for the victim you seem to think the one who was in the wrong.

Nevertheless, it can be a cruel thing to say by devaluing both former partners.
@ArishMell I mean when you had a bad relationship or breakup, people say "You will find someone better, someone that deserves you" that's what I mean. Because they ended a shitty relationship doesn't mean the next one will be better. Or that they will find the perfect partner.

@Lovebird Yes, I recognised your meaning but not all relationships end because one person is somehow unworthy, whiich the direct "you'll find someone better" or "plenty more fish in the sea" unfortunately can imply.
