@Punches Trump was never the problem, he's a symptom of the problem. There's a deep rot in the Republican party that drives them towards Fascism. Even before Trump, Moscow Mitch stole a SCOTUS appointment from Obama. This was a huge authoritarian act which happened way before Trumpism. There's also the fact that so many Americans were willing to vote for Trump. That doesn't just happen, Trump isn't magic, that's a result of social problems that need to be solved or we'll just end up with another Trump in a few years.

I mean it does seem strange that none of the other people in the govt are willing to stand up to him. Like he is just doing their dirty work and then he looks like the "Bad guy".

I wouldn't be able to find it now but I did read an article that was a longer version of what you said. Basically how trump is the embodiment of what America has become.
