Your choice, determines where you'll spend eternity. Everything else is like a paper rose, artificial, and does us no good.

While the old philosophy of enlightenment sounds good for us, God's Word confirms that enlightenment alone, cannot get us where our soul needs to find eternal rest.

I don't believe the following verse could be any clearer. Salvation has nothing whatsoever to do with the religions of this world. Religion is nothing but vain, man-made philosophy. There's not one verse in the Bible that says be a good person, do your best, and you'll go to heaven. No "religion" died on the cross for our sins. The person of Jesus did, and He told us EXACTLY how to get to heaven. We have no excuse for not knowing how to get to heaven. Jesus came in person and told us:

"I am the way, the truth, and the life; NO MAN can come to the Father, except by ME." John 3:16 and 17.

Notice in that verse that Jesus said HE..."I" am the way, the truth, and the life. Not any other person, object, or man-made gods. Whom shall you believe? Flawed, sinful man, or your eternal Creator, God? Jesus is telling us that whom you choose as Savior and entrust your soul to, determines where you shall spend eternity. That's serious business. That's something we cannot afford to get wrong. What good is it, if we gain everything on this earth... riches, fame, you name it... but then lose our own soul? If one loses his or her own soul because they neglected to prepare it for eternity, then they've lost everything!! Our soul is precious! Something that must not be neglected.

Enlightenment is good, but can only get us so far. Enlightenment alone, cannot get us where we need to go. God could not have made that more clear in His Word, that salvation is never achieved by good works. Certainly something we cannot achieve on our own. We are totally helpless in that area. It takes the mighty power of God to raise people from the dead and save their souls. Look what he says:

"For by grace (UN-earned favor from God) are ye saved, through faith; and that NOT of YOURSELVES: it is the GIFT of God: NOT of WORKS, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2, verses 8 - 9.

Boast of what??? That they earned their own way to heaven! That is not humanly possible. That's something only Jesus has the power to do. We do not have that kind of resurrection power within ourselves. It would be foolish to entertain any thoughts that we do.

Jesus is telling us that the only way to heaven is through Him, IF we want our soul eternally safe. Jesus even demonstrated to us "in the flesh", that there is an afterlife and that's His promise to us. He resurrected from the dead, before 500 witnesses, so that we wouldn't HAVE to guess what happens to us after we die. He didn't want people to be anxious, nervous about that, or scared. He said in his word, "I write these things, so that you may KNOW how to have eternal life!"

"These things have I written unto you, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, even unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God." 1 John 5:13

In other words, so you won't have to guess where you'll be going when your time comes to cross into eternity. He didn't want us to be scared and he gave us the perfect way to ensure that we safely make our spiritual journey to heaven. Notice he didn't say we could get to heaven by following anyone but him. He made that crystal clear, to make sure there would be no mistaken ideas about that. He never said we can get to heaven by Good Works or by our own efforts. Not even going to church, tithing, or helping other people, none of that. Just one way. Jesus said that.

We all know that death is one appointment no one will escape. It's just a fact of life. So it's only common sense to prepare our souls for it and Jesus told us exactly how to do that... by inviting him into our hearts and lives as our Rescuer, Redeemer and Savior, repenting of our sins, and receiving forgiveness for them. He will make sure we get to the right place. He is not willing that ANY should perish! (John 3:16)

I don't know about you, but I am not about to trust man's philosophy, when it comes to my soul. If I can't get to Heaven by myself, and you can't get to Heaven by yourself, there's only one person left that can do that, and that's Jesus. You and I do not have the power to get ourselves to heaven, I don't care how smart or wise or strong we are. That's just not going to happen, and I think it's time we face that.

This is not philosophy from some religion. This has nothing whatsoever to do with the religions of this world. There's not any religion in this world that's going to save our souls. None. I'm not following any religion from this world. I'm following Jesus, who knows what he's talking about when it comes to saving my soul. Not because I have to, but because of my great love for him and what he has done in my life and made it possible for my soul to have heaven as my home, when I die. I know he's the only one I can trust to do that. No religion on this earth will do that for me and neither will any man, no matter HOW smart they think they are. They are not, and never will be, smarter nor wiser than God, Creator of this universe. I am not leaving my soul to chance. Neither am I going to gamble with my soul. I know what Jesus has done for me, when he saved my soul. I know where I'm going because of God's promise to me to safeguard my soul. Do you?

This is why Jesus physically came to earth, to spread the good news that though we have sin in our lives, he'll forgive our sins, and make sure we get to heaven. That's why God the Father appointed Jesus as Savior of the world. No one can go to the Father, except through Jesus, His son, whom He personally appointed to be the ONLY Mediator between God and man:

1 Timothy 2:5, states that there is "ONE God, and only ONE Mediator, between God and men, the man Christ Jesus". This verse emphasizes that Jesus Christ is the sole intermediary or "bridge" between humanity and God, highlighting Jesus' unique role as the one who reconciles humans to God.

The very idea that God the Father personally appointed Jesus Christ as Savior of the world, the WHOLE WORLD, is so exciting!!! It tells us we don't NEED 50 million little gods to get us to heaven. We only need ONE. And God appointed JESUS as Savior of the whole world. He knew something we DIDN'T know. The blood of Jesus is more than powerful and mighty enough to save our souls, because it is sinless and pure. Our blood is not...It is totally insufficient.
