Sometimes I think with how this world is 'progressing' the more we know, the less we humanize and understand each other. I know it's not true, but more knowledge, sometimes feels like less acceptance and compassion. But everything now seems defined by your value to society, when really it is all of us collectively who make up society?
I know in say the 70s/80s there were more blind parts of society. Like misogyny that sometimes was celebrated. But I'm unsure if more judgmental attitudes is the answer.
Are we only happy when we are blind? Are we always so negative when we see flaws? Are those who call out the flaws as innocent as they suggest they are?
Social media has become the National Enquirer. Exploit, blame, and never have a heart in understanding and is all about exploiting this weakness of human nature
But is it human nature?
I'd like to think it's not, but has certainly set us back hundreds of years in emotional intelligence.

@awildsheepschase I think selfishness and focus on self is partly the problem. Not that it isn't important, but anything beneficial to humans is altered, packaged and monetized for mass appeal. We aren't just buying into health/wellness, we're buying into how it looks. The more put together we appear, the less it matters what's going on inside. If we can't make it look good, we're treated like trash and tossed aside. And as long as it's not me being tossed aside, "I don't care"...
Human nature is generally brutal, as are most things in nature, but we're really really smart. Unfortunately that creates a dynamic that leaves us stepping on each other to get ahead. We have a very advanced way of doing this and I 100% believe the most powerful know how to wield a psychological weapon.
If we acknowledge our feelings and heal as a community, who will buy diet powders, makeup, male enhancement, ect ECT ... Who will support a society built on exploiting "self worth" when we feel safe and loved and secure???
I don't understand why most people don't see this. Maybe I'm just crazy. Maybe I'm wrong, but I do see a very clear and healthy path less traveled.

@ScreamingFox
This, sadly this. I'm sure you have noticed in the past, even though there are very glaring disgusting things that are ugly, people are being trained to need everything being pretty and happy.
If you're not... well, consider the machine to have expended you. Come back when you are happy.
There are many paths to a healthy society and compassion. But it's not the path we are on. We are on the path of greed and pretend faces for corporate culture to say we care.
