What’s something that made you believe that a friend was rich when staying at their house when you were younger?

@pripyatamusementpark I used to wonder what alot of the people in my neighborhood did to afford the all fancy stuff they had. Fancy new cars, and such until the 90s recession hit and I saw those cars getting repossessed and the houses were being foreclosed on.
I found out later from a realtor that people were basically using the equity in their homes like an ATM to fund their keeping up with the Joneses lifestyle.
