In times like these, we need a Savior. Let him comfort you.

Truth is, we all need comfort, and Bible verses about comfort can be among the most encouraging gifts God has given us in this life. Like the good Father that He is, He knows exactly what we need, and the verses we find in His Word have the power to touch us and minister to us like nothing else can.

We live in a world and culture, broken by sin. Bible verses about comfort, carry us through hard times, regardless of the source of our loss. These verses can change your perspective. Knowing what He says in His Word can make a huge difference. And if you’re not sure where to start, here are some of my favorites.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

It reminds me that God never wastes anything. He provides comfort for us, but He also uses those hard times to teach us how to comfort others. Once we walk through our storms, we can walk alongside and help others, because we’ve been there and found God faithful.

“Do not let your heart be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me.” (John 14:1)

The disciples were torn up inside. They already had been dealing with a measure of fear as they entered Jerusalem for Passover. Now, Jesus was telling them that He was leaving. But He also challenged them to believe. Faith—belief—has the power to comfort us and sustain us. He provides comfort and peace to help us move forward.

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

One time when I was so fearful my whole body shook, I hardly had the strength to stand, but God did strengthen me and helped me through. Though I was terrified, I still stepped forward in faith and did what I had to do, because I knew he was with me and he would see me through, and he did. God knows and understands that we will fear. Just don't let it get to the point where it overtakes you, but instead, trust Jesus.

For me, it's not what happens to me or what I lose in this world, because I've lost it all before; but what I do with what I have left, is what counts. Jesus has given His all for me and he's never let me down. And that doesn't mean life has been a bed of roses. That's not what it's about. Those thorns have to come, so that we can learn, grow, and be better people. Jesus has always given me his best....I figure, how could I give him less? He has seen me through the worst, and I know he'll be there in the future. No matter what comes.

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

When Jesus said His yoke was easy, He didn’t mean we would never face difficult times. Instead, He urged His followers to come to Him during those painful seasons of life. He gives us the endurance to survive and even thrive, when we are hurting, because He is our only true Source of rest and peace.

Instead of looking at all the negative things in this world around us, we can keep our eyes focused on Jesus, and these things which trouble us, will grow faintly dim, in the light of his glory and grace.

For everyone out there who has suffered horribly, take heart. God will give you back everything you lost or suffered. Evil will never be stronger than God. He knows and he sees all that has happened to you and he will do as he promised. He will take vengeance on those who go out in this world to do nothing but hate and destroy. A brand new glorious day is coming for you. God keeps His word. He never breaks a promise. God is fair; sin is not. Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord. Evildoers shall reap what they have sown. That is a promise from God.

“When he has swallowed up death once and for all, the Lord God will wipe away the tears from every face and remove his people’s disgrace from the whole earth, for the Lord has spoken.” (Isaiah 25:8)

God has promised that a day is coming when He will deal with death and suffering “once and for all.” I love that God will wipe away our tears, one last time. And I love that this Bible verse about comfort is repeated in John’s heavenly vision (Revelation 21:4). God’s comfort here and now, gives us a taste of the ultimate healing we will experience in His presence. No more darkness. No more pain. No more suffering. No more tears. No more death. Only peace, love, and joy, for eternity.

I hope everyone has prepared for His coming, because it is sure, it is promised, and it won't be long before He'll be back. We must prepare now, so our soul will already be "spiritually ready", when he comes. That is done by believing and trusting that God will do what he said he will do, in saving our souls and forgiving our sins. That is, asking Jesus to come into our hearts and lives as our Savior. Don't let that devil tell you that God doesn't want you or you are not good enough. That's a lie. Jesus turns no one away.

Freedom of thought comforts me, as a protector I protect
@pentagrammom Sometimes, yes, but we have to be careful what we allow in our minds during freedom of thought, because sometimes that devil can use certain thoughts to bring us down, instead of up, by bringing up things in the past that bother us. That's why the Bible cautions us to be careful where we let our mind wander. Leave it open to whatever, and Satan will surely come in. No one can comfort like Jesus, because he has been through all the pain and suffering and knows what it's like. He invites us to come to him for comfort.
@LadyGrace as an actual living conscious thinker the technology pushing is not trustworthy or believable
@pentagrammom technology pushing? What's that?
@pentagrammom What kind of protector would you be? Of what and whom?
@LadyGrace as the one holdout that system cannot incorporate, I walk away from the attempt to tip the balance I have kept
@pentagrammom what balance would that be
@LadyGrace as with the other bot accounts looking for a fight, no thank you, I am not a cult bot and can end my engagement, bots can't
@pentagrammom
You were the first to mention what you thought was my attempt to tip your balance. A lot of people write a lot of things on this site and some pretty bad things and no one says a word, but that doesn't mean they're looking for a fight, but let someone put up a Christian post and all of a sudden people get offended. I don't think the problem is my post. I think it's your attitude towards my post. And your accusation is uncalled for. I don't have multiple accounts here. Thank you.
@LadyGrace neutrality, that or in orwellian doesn't away me, again the human can disengage but a computer program just keeps running
