I didn't forget... I just didn't calculate the day properly because I have dyscalculia - I was out by a few days the following year, too, though, that year, I finally got the right day and made note of it.
I haven't forgotten since then.
Needless to say, he was upset - but not as upset as I was for getting the date wrong in the first place.
