Here we go again.

I've been looking for a decent job/potential career in this declining market for quite some time, but also one that's within the criteria my parents put on me: it has to be close to home, if it's not 15 minutes away don't bother. Mind you, it takes 15 minutes to drive from the house to reach the city sooo... Obviously, not being able to work where the money and the opportunities are has been a pain in the ass to comply to. However, the "here we go again" statement is because Tesla reached out again with a slightly better opportunity than the one previously offered in the past. The caveat is I would have to relocate to Austin somehow, and it's the same relocation assistance as last time. They'd offer me $2,800. Ain't much, and I don't have to the resources to pool together to uproot myself to any different city. So I mentioned it to my parents to see if they'd actually be more motivated to help out in some way since that was the purpose of coming back home (long story short, I'm still dealing with the consequences of a really bad situation that was a year and a half ago). Same shit, different day.

They both were all enthusiastic about it, comparing Tesla to the military that somehow they would give me everything I need to be there (which I've learned the last time that they don't), and are still opposed to me just driving back and forth so I have time to build up my finances and relocate. Hell, all I'd need is a beater and I can be okay with staying in Austin without a roof over my head for a while (I've lived in my truck, when I had one, for 3 months before so I'm pretty resourceful). Nada. They want Tesla to give me everything out the gate, and they want me to take the job just so they can have bragging rights (narcissistic tendencies: "My kid is working for blah blah blah." Yet aren't supportive in trying to do anything to make this doable). Then it turned into, "Do you really want to get into Law or do you want to work for the spaceman?" "You don't need a job, you need a career. (My finances and not having a vehicle beg to differ)." "We can't make you do something you don't want to do." Totally ignoring the fact that I ABSOLUTELY WOULD DO IT SINCE I LOVED WORKING ON CARS BUT THAT I HAVE ABSOLUTELY ZERO SUPPORT TO DO THIS! AND THEY JUST AREN'T LISTENING!
So.... they're just killing me from actually being able to do anything like that. Hell, I can't trust them and I tried my best to comply with them since the limits put on me are just for their convenience anyway. I once got hired to fix pools, but needed to go to training for two weeks. After training I'd have a company vehicle. They couldn't even support me through that, so why the hell...?

Idk... it's just b.s.

working on cars can be a carrier , I have owned 3 garages over the years .and its continuing education ,
you need to look at a carrier you love no mater what parents say . forget the 15 minute rule you need a job and get the experience then more opportunity comes along
