I’m getting used to living here in Spain 🇪🇸
Finding out that Dora is living here is or has been the most important aspect of my moving here to take up the job offer I received when I was living with my Mum and aunt in Berlin. It is a German 🇩🇪 company that I work for but it has facilities here in Barcelona as well as several other countries in Europe.
Berlin is a beautiful place but I appreciate so much more the summers here especially because I needed to heal and I respond better in the sun. At home in Odesa I would have continued to heal but Russian rockets keep on being fired at the city which was exacerbating my anxiety and trauma after being almost killed with my friends.
I am the only survivor of the group of us who had met up that day to celebrate our continued good fortune after university, how ominous our meeting was in the end. I am happy to be so far from the killing and mayhem being perpetrated on the Ukrainian 🇺🇦 people by the monster from Saint Petersburg (or Leningrad, as he likely remembers it).
Life here in Barcelona is stabilising and I have a romantic relationship now with a Catalan doctor.
