Are you trapped in a perpetual rut of disillusionment that leaves you feeling befuddled, bewildered and discombobulated on a daily basis?

Asking for a friend...

And yes I know ...Keep a gratitude journal. Exercise. Eat more fiber... Stay hydrated... Jesus loves me ...

Got it. Thanks :o)

Yep, I am definitely in that rut. I see absolutely no way out either. But it is what it is.

@Mardrae but there is a way out you just have to change your way of thinking that's all

@Highonheels That’s actually pretty dismissive , and not always true for everyone in every circumstance. There are different levels of trauma, loss, mental health struggles, etc… You never know what someone is going through. Changing your thinking can be effective, but sometimes it isn’t that simple. Even if it was that simple for you.

@brokensignal well it might take time and it's different for every one depending on the circumstances yes I agree but I do believe it's possible to do no matter what , it worked for me but it took me several years to have at least an affect , I believe if you want things to change then you have to work on making some sort of change in some aspect of your life whether physical or mental but you can't just keep doing the same exact thing and expect a different result that will drive you insane so in order to change your circumstances you must make a change in your thinking and or take some different action.

In the past I struggled with depression and social anxiety for a long time after me and my wife split up I just dwelt on the pain and anguish for years roughly 3 years to be exact but nothing changed for those three years , I isolated myself trying to stay away from people as much as possible , I was caught up in my own head thinking that nothing will ever get better it felt like every aspect of my life was crumbling down around me untill the day I decided to to do something about it and face my fears that were causing my social anxiety my demons were very powerful but my willpower and wanting things to change was even stronger so I started getting my ass up and going out in public and started slowly trying to be social and actually interact with people instead of ignoring them eventually i started going to a local church food pantry and started meeting people including the pastor of the church who I told about my problems and issues and he told me about a support group called CELEBRATE RECOVERY and I started attending meetings and that's when everything really started to change for the better , I am in a better place now but I'm still attending meetings and continuing to work on my issues I'm still a work in process but I'm doing a lot better than I was but I believe it wouldn't have been possible if I didn't change the way I thought or hadn't taken some action I would still be where I was , so at some point in your troubles you have to come to a realization that in order to end the cycle something has got to change and in order for things to change you must take action or you will stay stuck in your own circumstances.
