how do you deal with feelings of insecurity

i get this a lot, i have lived alone for 18 years in a little council flat... i have no friends or support system anymore apart from my elderly mum and dad, and they live far away....i just have times where i get frightened of ending up on my own and what would i do if i get problems in life and i no longer have my mum and dad around to help me? that would be a nightmare, to face this life completely on my own.

insecurity is a terrible thing, when you're on your own and fear being left to work through life on your own and work through life's problems on your own......i get very lonely at times........i wish i was that little boy again who was at home being taken care of, all responsibility's gone and just enjoying life with my friends outside.....but that era has long gone.............now i'm an adult with mental health problems living alone...with just my mum and dad left...plus, i am getting older.

any thoughts?

This was sad to read. I sincerely wish I could offer any words of wisdom to give good advice that would help. I don’t see myself having insecurity problems and never felt I have in the past.

One thing that may help tho is to make sure to align yourself with good people that truly have your best interest at heart, and lift you up. Many people only associate with others for what they can receive from them or for image sake. You don’t need anyone that will only tear you down.

@NoGamesTolerated yes ive always suffered insecurity really, hopefully i can find those good folk you were mentioning and i can find my own little support group.

@darkmere1983 Be selective because quality people are not so in style these days. Keep your eyes open.. cause they are out there!
