That sounds like they're really going through some internal instability and need some security and consistency in their lives. That's really unhealthy
Or they could be mentally really sick
Or perhaps they just went through a life changing moment
Or maybe they were super worried about something and it turned out that everything is okay

@cerealguy I think they are going through some heavy stuff and are shrugging it off.
I'm a bit afaid to ask . Not because of them but because of me - not sure if I've got room to take a lot on.
Which i know is selfish, but we all got our own issues. I don't want to ask and then be inundated with worry. But then here I am worrying anyway .

@NOS4R2 then they're just a victim of the pain and they're trying their hardest to ignore the bleeding heart and mask it with happiness
Tell them to stop pretending they're bulletproof and let them cry and let it out. That's how we process our emotions. Living through them
And then afterwards, you're free :)
And they'll soon and positively really be able to think and live freely without those emotions clouding them
