Upon the shelf
Another Nik-Knack
Just a Padi-Whack
A random book
Inside the stack
A heart attack
No going back
Into the negative
Do I track
A glass that's cracked
A vase that lacks
the flowers placed
In a ground hardpacked

Upon the shelf
In a picture frame
Remembering
Who's to blame
Who stoked the flame
The demons named
Knowing that it's not
The Same
The shame
Remains
The stains unchanged
The chains that bind
Still remain
Just a game
of unending pain
Feelings felt
That can't be tamed

Upon the shelf
I can't deny
That too many tear dops
Fell and dried
And though I try
To wipe my eyes
Another million times
I'll cry
I don't ask why
I don't defy
I just know
That I am I
Knowing that
I can't pass by
Feelings felt
That never lie
