Hot sauce. And drugs. At least, while you're doing them.

But eventually drugs stop having the right effect right?

@Aidolovemostofyourthoughts: If you abuse them, yes. But, say, something like MDMA which isnt addictive. It's like pure happiness + euphoria. Like everything that exists in the world is perfect and wonderful and beautiful and amazing.

However, you only have so mich serotonin--which is a neurotransmitter that causes happiness--and MDMA releases most of it. So, after the trip, you have to wait at least a month until you do it again. And, it's possible you will be depressed afterwards for awhile. But, that's whay 5-HTP helps with to rebuild your serotonin and lighten the negative aftereffects.

So, yes, it loses its effectiveness very quickly. But, you could still do it once a month. And, if you know how to mitigate the negative effects, it makes it very worthwhile.

Though, literally 95% of ecstasy tabs on the street are fake or filled with other, more dangerous chemicals. Unfortunately

Point being, drugs can definitely be used to obtain temporary feeling of "everything is better." So long as one is responsible and knowledgeable, they can obtain that feeling every once and awhile. As long as they set boundaries for themselves and commit to waiting inbetween drug use.
