Two kinds of people.

They say there's two kinds of people. Optimists and pessimists or Idealists and realists. Picture life as an imaginary line that stretches to infinity. We cannot see the end, because it goes on forever, therefore we cannot see how it changes. It's very odd, but those who can see how it changes are called idealists or optimists and those who cannot and see it for what it is are called realists or pessimists. One thing you should understand is that we are so very limited in our vision, so that naturally means the way we see life, isn't all there is. The people who decide on purpose? They knew there was more than pointlessness. Even if they couldn't see it, they didn't have to. Seeing isn't believing to them, believing is seeing. One should never dismiss something simply because there's no evidence or proof. When each of us are so ignorant, what makes us think we have the right to decide what the world is? If we did that, then all of our advancements? They wouldn't have happened. The invention of electricity, the internet and global communication, the ability to capture moments of our lives in things we call pictures... The many wonders of our world! There was zero proof that our world as we know it could have existed even 500 years ago. No one knew. But these things didn't happen because someone said. "It's never happened, therefore it cannot be." They happened because people dared to imagine. They reached into the dark, the unknown to see what they could learn. None of them ever stopped at, "I know the way the world currently is. So that's all there is to it." They kept going to see what the world could be. To learn new things! I think that's what people need to do if they want to manage things like depression easier. They're lost in their dark past and miserable present. They shouldn't stop at what they know, they shouldn't stop period. They should continue at what there is to discover. The future full of so many possibilities that are all yours! Opportunity and potential are words anyone can claim. They're yours to take! It just starts with you, because it's you who can make these things happen.

I really enjoyed this. It helped to cement something I was thinking about in terms of the idealistic and realistic perspectives. Thank you for sharing! And I like your name :)

You're very welcome! I'm glad I could help. I often talk to myself very often, and I talk back, so conscience seems to fit me.

@Conscience: I like this. What kind of conversations do you engage with your consciousnesses ?

@TheLoveAge: Talk about anything and everything really, just life in general. Spend enough time with someone and you two just end up having conversations with no limitations.

@Conscience: That's true.
