Perceptions, why do we believe in them?

After 10 long years, an old friend spoke to me over the phone.

Me: Hello!
Friend: I'll slam you so hard, you won't wake up for the next 20 years.
Me: Who's this?
Friend: Barney, tell me you don't recognise my voice?

The moment he said 'Barney', I knew who was over the phone. It felt so good to hear his voice after a long time.

10 years ago, this friend moved to a different city and we failed to keep in touch.

He was 'Fred Flintstones' and I was 'Barney' in the organisation where we met and worked together. I called him 'Fred' because he's kinda Giant (6'6") and I am an average (5'10") height human being.😇

Coming to the main point 'perceptions'. Everyone in the office never spoke to this guy and had the perception that he's a big dum dum. Everyone thought he's an introvert. To a certain extent he is but not quite introvert. Also, he's not a dum dum at all. He taught me a lot as I was a beginner/newbie.

I was the first one in our office, who shook hands with him and cracked a joke about his stature that made him laugh out loud. That was it and we were friends. I also call him 'The Humble Giant'.😇

Why do people develope perceptions and about people who are blessed or different? Use the simple formula, walk a step towards someone and he/she would walk one towards you. In case, he/she doesn't then somone else will. I do not believe in perceptions at all. Do you?😇

Most of us believe in 'perceptions' basis our past experiences. Do you agree?😇
smile even at the cleaning lady. no one knows who will be useful to you in the future.
