Hardware or software? Server side or client side? What do you want exactly?
wildbill8336-40, M
shared memory is mostly system memory (ram)
SW-User
@wildbill83 Yeah it's the amount of ram that can be used for graphics
Number522-25, M
@wildbill83 so its not a 2 gb graphics card? @SW-User
wildbill8336-40, M
more so than those idiots at tech support who put you on hold for an hour then start asking stupid questions like...

"Is it plugged in?"
"Is is turned on?"
"Are the lights blinking?"

and you're tempted to ask them "Have you ever been waterboarded or had your fingernails removed with pliers"... 馃槕

the somewhat lengthy explanation

https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-ram-and-vram-of-a-graphics-card-Example-is-Nvidia-860m-gtx-thanks

built in cpus/gpus can be fair in a desktop, but generally speaking the best built in unit is still bad compared to the worst external gpu...
wildbill8336-40, M
@Number5 4156 is your combined cpu & gpu; 128mb is what's allocated strictly to GPU; shared is basically a buffer between the two (all GPU's do this to keep things running smooth when graphics is overtaxed)
Number522-25, M
@wildbill83 but then why did he say its 2 gb.

Does the performance of the gpu depend on the vram mainly? like for gaming i need more vram?

did the guy lie to me??

Margaret that you?
Number522-25, M
@Gangstress no its me Flinstones
AirForce68736-40, M
