If you are expecting to be invited and resentful when not invited by people you don't particularly care about and only because you would stand to gain from being invited then you could make the case that it's a narcissistic trait.
Same applies to the idea of celebrity friends. Would it be because you admire them and/or the reason they're famous or is it just the association to fame itself that you would want?
