STEM is overrated. College shouldn't just be a means to get a job. There's value in education for education's sake. It isn't all about science, tech, and economics. We could do well to learn history, philosophy, literature, and rhetoric.
@SW-User that's true tbh. I believe teachers deserce more money tbh

Philosophy is the type of thing anyone can just do at home. Being a philosopher doesn"t take much special training.
Everyone is a philosopher in reality.

@MethDozer Economics in that it's about capitalistic ambition. An education used to be more well-rounded. Now that stops at high school for many and even that is subpar for a lot of people.

I'm not saying becoming a philosopher is a practical goal, but we should learn these things. It would help foster critical thinking. Especially in the "age of misinformation".

@SW-User I'm just thinking what a useless waste of time that humanities course load was I was forced into
