If it's in a relatively safe place to do so, I think it's okay to let go, so long as it's not all day. Short bursts of crying, when you feel the need, are fine. Emoting in a safe way, is healthy. And very UNHEALTHY to hold them in.
If you're in a place where it's not appropriate for you to cry, don't negate your need to cry, but just postpone it. Make note of your feelings and circumstances, and do it later in a safe place.
