What food were you fed as a child that you didn’t know was weird until you were an adult?

I had a grandmother who would hard boil eggs, mash them and then make breaded egg patties out of them for breakfast, or sandwiches. Wasn’t terrible. Just different. I’ve not ever known anyone else who did this.

For dessert we had cut up strawberries in sugar on top of biscuits with either whipped cream or ice cream. It’s really good but I’m not sure if it’s a northern thing or if my dad just didn’t know how to make shortcakes and that was his idea of strawberry shortcake 🤷‍♀️😂

@SweetNSassy I have heard of that. We usually had angel food cake (homemade because we lived on a farm and had plenty of eggs) with sweetened strawberries & homemade whipped cream.
@cherokeepatti that sounds good too

@SweetNSassy It's the way my family did strawberry shortcake too. Homemade biscuits work best with that.
