Did I do anything wrong???I am confused.

There is this lady living at our colony who came to ask my moms dress for her daughters engagement ceremony.I wasnt mad at her for asking dress but my mom was heading to native place for cancer treatment stage 3 at that time.On top it we have neighbour who lost her husband 2 weeks back , she was asking me whether I should ask her for dress. That night when I had a call with mom and my husband I was telling them how idiotic this woman to have such unreasonable behaviour.Next morning she came to ask me why you said about this to my neighbour.I said I didnt. She was clearly arguing with me I knew she might have listened to my phone conversation and she is about it indirectly.Guys did I do anything wrong? My mom says we need neighbours as my mom is ill so I should not say things about her. Please guys respond as I am confused coz I know I m not wrong but the way she argued with me today I felt guilty. Please help.

P.S Colony means lane/society where there are different towers(buildings) with numerous flats.I found many people taking it otherwise so explaining.
Meh typical Indian Neighbor aunty
You already have enough on your mind, don't waste your thoughts and energy on her
I hope and pray your mom gets well soon

I don't think you did anything wrong. You have a lot on your mind and she isn't helping.

But felt bad about why she came asking me whether I have told abt this incident to anyone or not**?

I wouldn't let it bother you to much. Besides why would she care if you told anyone?

I think she should have asked your mother directly. But personally, I think it is odd that a grown woman would be borrowing clothes. You did nothing wrong, it was not yours to give her.
BraveAngel · 36-40, F
No its ok to borrow clothes but there is a proper time for everything.I have my mother who is just diagnosed with cancer stage 3 going through trauma. So I dont think she should ask for dress or anything right now for her ceremony or anything.Am I wrong here?

@BraveAngel: Not one bit. You did the right thing. You were protecting your mother's interest. You mother was just upset as a result of the recent cancer news. She is under a lot of stress, a lot of things are going through her head and the illness may influence her behavior. You should forgive her.

@BraveAngel: You're not wrong. You had every right to say no. If she doesn't like it then too bad for her.

What is the Colony you mentioned? Where do you live? Is it like a commune?
It is like a housing community
You know a number of houses in a row on either side of the street
BraveAngel · 36-40, F
Right.A big society with lots of tower or buildings.
ItsDanny · M
No she acts like a childish mad rude woman
BraveAngel · 36-40, F
Yes she is immatured but she is way too older than me my moms age.I cannot let her know about her unreasonable behaviour. On top of it she didnt like I criticized her act over call with my mom n husband.
