Anyone else have a small business or side hustle? how's it going?

My friend and I started a small t-shirt business. I feel we have the potential to do well. He feels it's a million dollar business that we have, but to me it's a good opportunity to make extra money on the side. Mainly because the t-shirt business is a very tough one. I am in the process of getting my life together and making extra money for my savings. I put in a lot of hours researching and designing. When I design I hope I am not doing anything that has been done and try to make the designs as unique as possible. I know there is nothing new under the sun, especially when it comes to design. We managed to get a store in one of the biggest malls in America. They feel we will do good, and I hope that is the case. I work a 9-5 job as a graphic designer and make $20 an hr. Have been really reckless with money and haven't saved anything. At 31 I should have at least 20k saved.

I am trying my best to save money but also helping my parents out with rent and other expenses which makes it really hard to save money. I plan to move from NYC to a less expensive city. Hoping this t shirt business makes me a decent chunk of change so I can get my life back on track. I have many talents and gifts, I just have to stay focused and not compare my life to friends that are doing really good life. Just have to take it one day at a time. Im trying to stay off social media, because it is very toxic. It's mostly smokes and mirrors.

It's all about sales get out and shake hands. You will get out what is put into growing your business. Get the designs out there associated with things that appeal to your target demographic. As long as you and your partner have the same vision and work together to achieve the same goal good things can happen. Create a brand so that it's not just a design it needs to stand for something more to thrive long-term.

@PhluorescentLeech Thank you very much. We have a shop in one of the biggest mall in America that will be opening in a few weeks. I worked hard on the branding and made sure it appeals with our target audience. I have a bunch of ideas in my head. Just have to do research to make sure the idea hasn't been done.
