I Love You

We burst outward, only to wilt inward
All the while wondering why we bloomed?
Does anybody really love anybody?
Why do we do the things we do?

But I like the feel of water dropping on my skin,
I love the way your eyes glisten when you let me in,
The way your lips part over your smile,
And if the world's burning, I'm happy we're together for this while.

I just wish I had an answer,
I wish I had some hope.
I wish we never had to die,
Or ever feel alone.
I wish eternally,
That I finally felt at home.
