Why do people expect a universe full of randomness to be fair?

I guess this is all about perspective.. I think the universe IS mostly fair, there's way more fair than not.. So my thinking is, it's just how one perceives it.. There are those who will see and count only the few negatives and not pay attention to or even see that most of the time most things actually go pretty well..

They think they are entitled

Because not many people believe the universe is full of randomness. More people think things happen for a reason.

because we control small aspects within the whirlwind of chaos and can exert our will over it. so why not?
