Is it okay to tell someone that’s mixed race that they aren’t really that race (read context below)?
I’m mixed...I’m often told I’m not really this or that and not gonna lie...it bothers me (doesn’t define or inhibit me, but yet- it sticks in the back of my mind). It makes me feel like I’m too light for one side and too dark for the other that neither are willing to embrace me as their own. Ppl don’t dare have the audacity to tell someone that’s mulatto that they’re not black so why is it okay for someone to say this to me? What do I say back?

You are the best of 2 words ,not defined by you're skin . If no one embraces who you are ,thats their loss ,not your's Just be you ,let them figure out whats wrong with them . there must be something that they think the color of their skin makes them better then you . I have 3 Grandchildren that are mixed ,and a nephew and a niece 5 of the prettiest kids on the planet ..
They all fit in whatever world they want ,,everyone loves them And since all the Grandparents get along too , no one is pumping their heads full of any crap ,,they just know they are loved
@DecafD The little girl in the bottom pic used to wish's her hair was straight like her Moms ,,but they are all a little older then these pic's (I didn't feel like uploading any current ones ),but you can see they are all gorgeous kids But she is so pretty she gets lots of attention. Their Mom is fine so she blows cruel people off like gum on her shoe ,Her current man is Italian and you can say his son is mixed too ,,but another great looking kid . She is not so concerned about how hard it is to do her hair anymore . She has a lot of styles she goes with now ,she is super smart and popular too . The world is her oyster as they say ,,I bet you no one hurts her by saying cruel things about which race she belongs to ,, That will be just one less person she gives the time of day to .
