Should I move out of NYC?

I live in NYC, and honestly I'm getting sick and tired of living here. Its way to expensive and getting more expensive. Was thinking about moving out the city. I've checked other cities that I have interest in and its a lot cheaper to live in those cities. I know NYC has many benefits, but its just not worth living here anymore.

NYC is again (ala the 70's) becoming a cesspool of a city, due to the incompetent and corrupt politicians who are elected to be your REPRESENTATIVES(not your "leaders")... get out while you can. There are many beautiful cities in the USA for you to relocate to.

@ZedsLeppelin2 Very true, this city is getting overcrowded and overpriced. And frankly its a bit overrated. Everyone wants to move here until they move here.

@skip2mylou Yup...NYC once again is only a "melting pot" for the super wealthy or for those dependent on NYC Government handouts......thus, the middle class NEED NOT APPLY to live in NYC.
Same goes for the small town that I grew up in that was eventually TRANSFORMED by "progressive" politicians....where in the small town that I grew up in, there are now only 2 classes of people who live in my once small town now..... the super wealthy and those dependent on the Government who are living in the MANY government housing projects built in my once small town, thus there's NO LONGER a middle class anymore in the small town I grew up in, as well as unrecognizable to those of us from Middle Class working families who grew up in OUR small town back in the 60's and 70's.

Would you be giving up career advancement opportunities by moving? Without a promotion, the salary would be reduced, outside of the NYC metro, for the same job, but you may be in a place that you enjoy more than NYC.

@toddr13 ill def be in a place I enjoy more. I hoping I can stay with my current job and work remotely. I am one of the top designers there and I feel they would want to keep me there. The salary might be reduced, but the standard of living will be better. And rent expenses will be a lot lower.

@SW-User Isn't that the truth, I have so much regret. I feel this is a move I should of made years ago.

Can you find work elsewhere then yes. It's not worth the prices you pay in my opinion to live in the city

@SW-User Oh yeah, NYC is so overpriced and not worth it anymore. I work in the design field. I am talking to my boss to see if I can work remotely from another city. If not, ill have to find a job there first.
